Katie Couric was born in Arlington, Virginia and she inherited the passion for journalism from her parents. Her father was a public relations executive and news editor at the Atlanta Journal Constitution. By the time she got to high school, Katie Couric had already been an intern at Washington DC all news radio station WAVA.
